Port Esbjerg has been selected to join the World Economic Forum’s global Transitioning Industrial Clusters (TIC) initiative. This places Esbjerg among just 40 selected industrial clusters worldwide – and makes it the only Danish representative in the network.
A Transitioning Industrial Cluster is a geographic area where businesses and public institutions work together to transform an industrial region from fossil dependency to low-emission operations.
The idea is that participating clusters can share infrastructure, resources and risk, helping to accelerate development at a scale that would be difficult to achieve through individual projects alone.
The World Economic Forum highlights Esbjerg’s ambition to develop a low-emission, multi-energy hub for Europe, where offshore wind, carbon management, hydrogen production and industrial innovation contribute to the green transition. The designation is also a recognition of the collaborative approach and shared ambitions that continue to drive development in Esbjerg.
